Iceswap is a cross-chain DEX which aims to help with identifying legit projects to invest in. We want to inform users about it and help diminish different kind of project scams such as website phishing and rug pulls. Each project receives a reputation score based on ice swap “security check”. The project is deployed on the Polygon network.

Problem statements

Scenario: There are currently a series of DEX lawsuits happening in the US, because a lot of people are being scammed by non legit projects.

• Before doing any sort of investment and avoid any rug pull, users are recommended to do extensive research in the project and team that they want to invest in. For new investors, there is a lack of knowledge on how to access if a project is legit and sources where to get this information is unknown, and still it requires a lot of work going to third-party websites, in order to find relevant information of the project.
• Several new users invest in dubious projects because of phishing, a centralized research place may help reducing links confusion.
• For non-technical users, users need to spend a lot of time learning about blockchain, which they do not want to do. Besides difficulties for understanding technical jargon.
• [Some of the most prominent sources of information for crypto research are also the most likely to be misinformation spewing echo chambers. E.g. protocol/token specific subreddits, discords, or telegram channels. This further increases the difficulty of making educated decisions. ]

There are more users in crypto than ever before, and that is only going to grow as time continues. Unfortunately, simply by the law of numbers, as more people enter the space, there are more bad actors. We have all seen the prominent hacks, scams, honepots, and overall low-quality projects that continue to proliferate throughout our space. This affects all us, either directly or indirectly, whether an enthusiast, or an investor. The reputation of blockchain based technologies decreases, people become wary of involvement in the community, and it often brings inefficient and unhelpful regulation, centralization, and control that goes against the ethos of blockchain.

If we want crypto to grow, then we need to start tidying up our own space, and realize that it is all of our duty to do what is right and to help keep the quality of projects high, our finances safe, and minimize stress. We cannot grow and will not grow if people aren't comfortable engaging with cryptocurrency.
